Polish language courses in 86 academic centres in 43 countries will be taught by 89 teachers selected by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

They will become ambassadors of the Polish language and culture abroad, introducing students from different parts of the world to Polish culture, history, art and science, the agency reports.

In the academic year 2024/2025, several new universities will be added to the map of centres where NAWA conducts Polish language courses. The lecturers will appear at universities in Greece (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and Germany (Friedrich Schiller University Jena).

The agency is developing cooperation with Italy - in addition to Bari, Naples and Bologna, it will delegate a lecturer to the Sapienza University of Rome. As part of cooperation with Kazakhstan, NAWA lecturers will also teach Polish at Narxoz University. After a year's break, Polish lecturers will also return to Glasgow and start cooperation with the University of Cambridge.

In the past academic year, NAWA lecturers taught Polish as a foreign language in 82 academic centres on five continents. Polish language courses are taught at Polish and Slavic studies all over the world

The largest groups of NAWA lecturers work in China, Ukraine and France. In cooperation with universities and Polish diplomatic missions, as well as with Polish organizations and local associations and foundations, the lecturers prepare cultural events to present Polish history, literature and contemporary achievements of Poles to foreigners.

NAWA lecturers organize film reviews, performances, exhibitions, as well as meetings, workshops and discussions. Every academic year, they teach a total of nearly 3,000 people.
