
Prof. Tadeusz Tomaszewski - Vice-Rector of the University of Warsaw - has been honoured with the award granted by Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. He received the award for his contribution to the developments of world forensic science.

The award is granted by Dr. Henry C. Lee, the founder of the Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven. Prof. Tomaszewski received the award for research and teaching in the field of criminology.
Prof. Tadeusz Tomaszewski is Vice-Rector for human resources and lifelong learning at the University of Warsaw, and Head of the Department of Criminology at the Faculty of Law and Administration. He specializes in criminology, criminal procedure, law of evidence, detection and prosecution of crime, forensic studies of documents.
In 1978 he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, in 1983 obtained a doctorate in law, habilitation in 1993 and in 1998 the title of professor. He worked at many foreign universities and scientific institutions, including Max Planck Institute, University College London, University of Salzburg, Humboldt University, Washington University. He also served as: Chairman of the Scientific Council and a board member of the Polish Forensic Association, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police, a member of the advisory committee to the Chief of Police.
