
Law students from the Jagiellonian University have taken first place in the oldest international mediation competition, the INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament in Chicago, the university press office announced.
Winners Marta Nawrocka, Elżbieta Schulz, Antoni Otałęga and Michał Żyłka.beat off competition from 58 other teams from around the world to come first in the Advocate/Client category. They also took 6th place in the Mediator category.
Professor Jerzy Pisuliński, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków told PAP: “This is a great success and it is extremely satisfying.”
The INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament took place for the 19th time. So far over 800 teams from around 50 countries have participated in the competitions.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration pointed out that young lawyers from the Jagiellonian University are also successful in other competitions, including business mediation.
He added that preparation for such projects and participation in them allows students to improve their out-of-court dispute resolution skills.
