Computer Science and Information Technology taught in English at Lodz University of Technology have received the prestigious accreditation of the American organization ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.).
Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik said: “Fields of study accredited by ABET must meet the highest standards set for technical professions and engineering programs. The accreditation process itself took almost four years and was very demanding. ABET is constantly improving its assessment criteria, checking, among other things, the consistency of education with processes taking place in the economy and the labour market.”
He added that obtaining such notable accreditation is an important step in the implementation of a new, innovative model of designing study programs at the university. The experience gained during the accreditation process will help to develop new quality standards.
The accredited engineering programs are offered in collaboration with IFE (International Faculty of Engineering) - Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, and Information Technology at the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics.
ABET is an American organization founded in 1932 that accredits post-secondary education programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology.
