Ministry of Science announces new competitions of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities

Financing translation and publication of Polish scientific papers are the main objectives of the new competitions of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities. Its third module: "Internationalisation" will cover projects that introduce Polish humanities to the international academic circulation. Applications may be submitted from June 25.

National Programme for the Development of Humanities run by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education was created after consultations with representatives of the humanities in Poland. The new formula of the programme consists of three modules - "Tradition", "Development" and "Internationalisation". Each of them is a separate competition, focusing respectively on: the study of national cultural heritage, innovation and integration research, and ensuring international influence of Polish humanist thought.

The competition "Internationalisation" 3.a support projects that involve translation and publication of monographs on the highest scientific level, in order to disseminate them among Polish and foreign scientists. The competition will include translations of both the classics of Polish humanities, as well as its new achievements.

"Internationalisation" 3.b will finance the publication of foreign language versions of the most important scientific journals of Polish humanities. Priority will be given to English language editions.

Applications for research project funding in the competitions "Internationalisation" 3.a and 3.b should be completed OSF in the system, and then submitted electronically and on paper. The call will be open from June 25 and to July 31.

National Programme for the Development of Humanities is a series of actions to facilitate the integration of Polish humanities with the European and global humanities, and assist young scientists in career development in cooperation with foreign scientific centres. The programme also promote the achievements of Polish humanities in the world. More information about the programme is available on the website.
