BikeMic: a safe cyclist with headphones

Safe cycling on a crowded street with your favourite music coming from your headphones? This will be possible with BikeMic, a small device, whose authors have just launched a crowdfunding campaign. They want to raise funds to start mass production.

BikeMic is a device with a stereo microphone, connected between headphones and music player. "With this small device, listening to your favourite music and cycling is possible even on the busiest street" - claim the authors of the device.

All because BikeMic allows to precisely set of the volume level of music and the ambient noise, and the two sound sources are of excellent quality. Additionally, the microphone protective fur eliminates wind noise.

"Imagine that you\'re sitting in a movie theatre watching an action movie. You see a crowded street, cars and a cyclist. You hear car engines running, you hear the sound of bicycle chain, you hear the surface noise below the wheels. And beautiful music in the background. And now imagine that it\'s you sitting on that bike, safely passing the cars around you, without fear that something might escape your attention. With BikeMic, you are safe" - argue the authors of the device.

The authors have prepared BikeMic for cyclists, as a result of their biking passion and love for music. It soon turned out that it found supporters among a larger group of outdoor activity enthusiasts, irrespective of the type sport or their age.

A campaign continues on crowdfunding website IdieGoGo to raise the funds necessary to start mass production of BikeMic. The target of the authors of BikeMic is to collect accumulate 100 thousand dollars. On the first day they already raised 302 dollars. The collection will continue for a month.
