The KATOPOLIS show opens the European City of Science Katowice 2024

The music and acting show KATOPOLIS marked the official opening of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 last weekend. The title, given by EuroScience in cooperation with the European Commission, was awarded to a city from Central and Eastern Europe for the first time in history.

    Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski awarded Grand Prize in Popularizer of Science competition

    The Grand Prize in the 18th edition of the Popularizer of Science competition has been awarded to Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, paediatrician, President of the Foundation for the Infection Prevention Institute, expert of the Supreme Medical Council for Epidemical Threats. Winners in five competition categories (scientist, animator, institution, media and team) also received awards.

    Popularizers of Science wanted! New edition of competition launched

    The 18th edition of the Popularizer of Science has been launched. The competition awards people, teams and institutions that explain scientific problems and help others better understand the world. Candidates can be proposed until September 18. The winners will be announced in December.

    DuqueESA astronaut to speak at European Rover Challenge in Kielce

    Winners of Popularizer of Science, 17th edition announced

    Nearly 80 candidates entered this year's 17th edition of the Popularizer of Science competition. In the first stage, the Competition Jury selected 23 finalists. In the second stage, the jury selected competition winners in five categories as well as the Grand Prize winner, and awarded two special mentions. The editors of PAP - Science in Poland also granted the special Tomasz Trzciński Award.

A new method of coating materials with thin layers in a way that resembles printing has been developed at the Jagiellonian University. It requires a minimal amount of chemical materials and can accelerate the development of 3rd generation organic solar cells.
