Scientists investigate affects of the Baltic Sea on the Arctic
Scientists are trying to better understand the impact of the Baltic Sea on the Arctic. Analysis of samples collected during the annual AREX scientific expedition by the Institute of Oceanology at the Polish Academy of Sciences will make it possible to investigate whether and how the brackish waters of the Baltic Sea affect the Arctic environment.

The KATOPOLIS show opens the European City of Science Katowice 2024
The music and acting show KATOPOLIS marked the official opening of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 last weekend. The title, given by EuroScience in cooperation with the European Commission, was awarded to a city from Central and Eastern Europe for the first time in history.

The Grand Prize in the 18th edition of the Popularizer of Science competition has been awarded to Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, paediatrician, President of the Foundation for the Infection Prevention Institute, expert of the Supreme Medical Council for Epidemical Threats. Winners in five competition categories (scientist, animator, institution, media and team) also received awards.

Winners of Popularizer of Science, 17th edition announced
Nearly 80 candidates entered this year's 17th edition of the Popularizer of Science competition. In the first stage, the Competition Jury selected 23 finalists. In the second stage, the jury selected competition winners in five categories as well as the Grand Prize winner, and awarded two special mentions. The editors of PAP - Science in Poland also granted the special Tomasz Trzciński Award.
