Three Polish universities have been nominated for the prestigious Elsevier Research Impact Leaders Award 2023 in the Engineering & Technologies category.
The Gdańsk University of Technology, the Jagiellonian University and the Opole University of Technology were chosen for their quality research.
Professor Grzegorz Królczyk, vice-rector for science and development at the Opole University of Technology said: 'This nomination is very prestigious and proof of the appreciation of the work of the entire scientific community at the Opole University of Technology. Being in the scientific research top three in Poland is something that we are extremely proud of. It would not be possible without increasing the level of internationalisation and scientific cooperation with other technical universities.’
The Research Impact Leaders Award aims to support scientific research and development. The award is granted to universities and research institutions that have the greatest impact on scientific research and contribute to better recognition of Polish science in the world.
The award is granted by the scientific publishing house Elsevier, which every year also organizes the list of the Top 2 percent of the most influential researchers in the world and owns the largest database of scientific publications, Scopus.
The Elsevier Research Impact Leaders Award ceremony will take place in Łódź on October 26, during the meeting of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. (PAP)
