Physicist from Kraków’s Jagiellonian University wins EUR 2.5 million grant for quantum mechanics project
Professor Karol Życzkowski from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science at the Jagiellonian University acquired funding of over EUR 2.25 million for the implementation of a quantum mechanics research project. The research will be financed by the European Research Council under the ERC Advanced Grant 2023 competition.

Foundation for Polish Science launches fourth call of FOR UKRAINE Programme
Scientists from Ukraine are invited to establish cooperation with Polish researchers to undertake joint research in humanities and social sciences. The deadline for applications is June 3, 2024. Heart-shaped breast cancer through Polish photographer's lens
Małgorzata Lisowska captured her own cancer cells that form the shape of a heart in a microscopic photo. The photograph won 3rd place in the Nikon Small World competition. The artist, suffering from breast cancer, will sell the award-winning work and use the proceeds for further oncological treatment.

The AGH Space System team from Kraków won the 9th edition of the Mars rover competition European Rover Challenge, which ended last week in Kielce. The next two places on the podium went to Swiss teams.

Karolina Rorat and Ewa Maniak, students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, took second place in the international competition 'Portugal Olive Guest House' and won the Buildner Student Award. The jury appreciated their project of an olive guesthouse in Portugal.
